More than 15 minutes for Facebook?
The Facebook phenomenon keeps drawing attention. Here are some of the items on the young Internet company that I’ve found most interesting, presented in no special order:
- From Robert Scoble’s blog, a lengthy consideration of “Why Facebook, why now?”
- On Digital Daily, John Paczkowski discusses rumors that Microsoft might buy Facebook. Like Scoble’s post, this one talks about the so far appalling performance of Facebook’s advertising model.
- On his blog, Marc Andreessen discusses the insta-backlash against Facebook (”Silicon Valley — and the tech industry generally — suffers from a particularly acute form of ’short attention span theater’ “), and offers his prediction that Facebook is here to stay.
- The Wall Street Journal talks about how Facebook (and its CEO, Mark Zuckerberg) are holding out for “real” money. The “Breakingviews” article linked from this one (you’ll have to have a WSJ subscription to read it) is also good.
