No one-hit wonder: Marc Andreessen.

He just sold his second company, Opsware (née Loudcloud) to Hewlett-Packard for $1.6 billion. Opsware makes software that helps big computer users (think Wells Fargo) run their data centers better. You may have heard of Andreessen’s first company, Netscape.

Andreessen’s also a disgustingly good blogger, and has made a big impact in the tech blogosphere since he started blogging in the past couple of months. You can read his own view of the Opsware/HP deal here. The cold, hard version from Bloomberg is here.

This deal was hardly the only one bubbling on the stove this weekend. As this WSJ item points out, it’s been a busy few days in M&A-land across the board.
