Post #401 — an open invitation for suggestions.
Just a housekeeping note here, folks: As I looked at my blog dashboard just now, I realized that the prior post was the 400th in the history of this blog. This seems like a good point to say something that I hope is clear all the time, but is probably worth reiterating, viz.,
You have a standing invitation to tell me what you’d like to see on this blog.
For the most part, I respond to the news and to the themes that particularly motivate me, but I’m always interested to know which topics interest you the most.
So, please feel free to leave a comment here, drop me an e-mail (hoovers-dot-com, twalker-at), or to send me a tweet via my Twitter account.
Thanks for reading!

Tim - sorry to be late to the party but wanted to write in and strongly applaud your efforts with this blog. They’re much appreciated. My primary interest is in understanding how businesses work, and how to improve their performance in light of external conditions as well as internal functions and behaviors.
You repeatedly address those issues and not only well but almost solely - though admittedly there are lots of decent to good blogs on more detailed issues.
So my first and overwhelming suggestion is please keep on keeping on.
With that said I’d suggest a “strategic” plan to explore other functions beside sales - which has been a wonderful series and one I’ve been terribly glad to see. But sales is not the only stepchild of the corporation - even marketing is usually left to it’s denizens and not treated with the true seriousness it deserves. But other operational areas that are critically important are oft neglected (logistics, operations, technology, etc.).
You could also poke at this in light of particular industries, e.g. retail or technology. As well as, as you do, particular firms.
Since those are my interests it may be no surprise that my own blog reflects them and a couple of the entries might amuse you. Since they occasionally riff on your work or use you as jumping off point.
